Imagine Christmas…but instead of being presented with wrapped gifts, you are presented with mind-expanding ideas that challenge you and leave you filled with a sense of pride, and hope. If you get that, then you get precisely what this morning was like for me and - judging by their reactions - the other attendees in the filled-to-capacity crowd at TEDxGrandBahama.
Believe me, like Christmas, I had a countdown going on looking forward to today! Unlike Christmas, today didn't cost me a penny. In fact, it has left me feeling much richer for the experience.
TEDxGrandBahama curators, Earle and Katarlah Taylor were successful in assembling a powerful lineup of presenters from varied disciplines to tackle the question: "Bahamian Development: How Can We Further It?" Each spoke with passion and insight, offering a veritable banquet of fresh perspectives and food for thought. Even if you didn't agree with everything that was put on the table (what kind of an idea exchange would THAT be?) you were challenged to tap into your own insight, nurture your own idea seeds, and maybe offer up your own dish to add to the table.
